HI 043: CERTIFICATE ON WOMEN, PEACE AND SECURITY

In recent times however it has been noted that women are not considered in peace building missions neither is their voice considered in conflict negotiations or conflict resolutions missions despite them being the most affected population when a crisis strikes.
Women are the most vulnerable people when it comes to the effects of any crisis. They are the most affected and in any population of either refugees or displaced persons they are the majority and they are the ones with a lot of responsibilities to make sure that the young ones and the aged have access to basic commodities. This course is supposed to equip learners with skills on the importance of including and engaging actively in participation of conflict resolution missions at all levels, peace building initiatives and protection of them during armed conflict. Women are an asset in gathering intelligence and when used well they can gather intelligence on the genesis of problems, they are very good negotiators for peace since they are the most affected in times of a crisis and therefore should be considered in peace building missions.
The topics to be covered include the following;

• Introduction to women peace and security
• Implementation of the women, peace and security agenda at the Netherlands,  regional, national and local levels
• The normative framework around women, peace and security
• Participation, prevention and protection of peace by women

Course Begins on 1st of every month for 3 Months.
